In the article, “Powerful celestial astrological events June 19-23,” I wrote about a series of significant and observable astrological occurrences that are giving us the opportunity to participate in the great “As Above, So Below” mysteries. Daniel Giamario, Founder and Executive Director of The Shamanic Astrology Mystery School, and creator of the Shamanic Astrology paradigm, briefly described the first three days of these events, and this article includes today and tomorrow’s timings.

From a Shamanic Astrology perspective, observing the movement of the planets through the constellations enables us to participate with Great Mystery in a kinesthetic, experiential way. Ceremonializing the occurrences increases the activation of a co-creative relationship between the planets and our earth experience.

The Sun and today’s New Moon in the zodiacal sign of Cancer, is occurring near the center of what the Lakota Sioux and some other Plains Indians called The Sacred Hoop. It was considered to be extremely auspicious when the Moon and planets moved through this area in the sky.

The Sacred Hoop is a configuration of stars visible in the winter and spring evening sky that current age astronomers sometimes call the winter hexagon. Starting at what is currently positioned at the top of the Hoop moving clockwise, the stars comprising the Hoop are: Pollux, Castor, Capella, the Pleiades, the Hyades, Rigel, Sirius, and Procyon. The Ecliptic (plane of the solar system) and the Milky Way (plane of the galaxy) cross through and intersect near the middle of this configuration, forming a cross within a circle. The place of the intersection is between the feet of The Twins and the horns of The Bull. The Hoop symbolizes the four directions, the four races of humanity, the four seasons and the four elements.

Giamario writes:

Day Four: Monday, June 22. The New Moon at the Galactic Edge near summer solstice is exact at 12:35 pm PDT at 1 Cancer 30. Many ancient cultures considered a particularly close New or Full Moon to the Solstice or Equinox to be extremely significant. It represents the union of solar and lunar mysteries, bringing these two uniquely independent cycles into step with one another. And here we have it happening at the Galactic Edge, at the junction of the galactic plane and the solar system's plane. Galactic Alignment indeed!

I see a day of deep opening to and an allowing of new creation, with profound gratitude to Great Mystery and a possible seeding of a new calendar. A new everything. Meanwhile, all day long, the Sun is continuing to stand still and is approaching its exact opposition to Pluto near the Galactic Center, occurring at 12:39 am PDT Tuesday morning.

Day Five: Tuesday, June 23. This features the ceremonial New Moon or the first visible evening Crescent Moon and it is fully accented by the Sun Pluto opposition. This ceremonial New Moon is called the Hilo Moon in the Hawaiian tradition. It is interesting to note that virtually all shamanically oriented people ceremonialized the "New Moon" by its first visible appearance.

Tuesday evening marks the end of these amazing five days of astrological shamanic ceremonial opportunities, and then a beginning. Inspired by the transmissions from the Galactic Edge, animated by Mars and Venus, and deepened by the Pluto activation near the Galactic Core, the incubated seeds are planted and we set our intent with the first visible Crescent Moon knowing the Earth Mother is in charge. With our deep desire to work together with the Circle of Grandmothers, we are curious to see what happens next.
