Artlo Hand Crafts, Photo Eloisa Zuccaro

Brazilian artist, Eloisa Zuccara of Artlo, hand crafts gorgeous color splashed pouches, rag dolls and simply charming patchwork bags. Eloisa will be displaying her artwork for sale at the Miami Springs Holiday Dog Park Extravaganza this Saturday, December 6, 2008. Some of Eloisa's original, hand crafted exquisite dolls are Brazilian and others are Australian style.  Eloisa also does 'Annies', the traditional American Raggedy Ann dolls.  Says Eloisa, "I always want to innovate. The pouches are very colorful. All of my crafts are VERY colorful and I use this kind of patchwork called 'Crazy Patchwork' with raw edges, then I quilt them." Eloisa's bags are quilted too. To make the dolls she uses cotton, felt, wool for the hair and for some she uses recycled jeans.  Environmentally conscious Eloisa, uses recycled materials and fabrics most of the time.

In an era when we all need to be thinking of the environment Eloisa is striving to fulfill her love for her artwork while simultaneously preserving the environment.  "Now" says Eloisa, "I'm starting to recycle furniture. I re-paint it. I want to use more natural materials. My tablecloth is a huge piece of jute and I use paper bags to wrap the products to help the environment.  In the future I want to make rugs and cushions too. I paint fabrics and canvas too, but I'll not be showing it in this fair.  Contact Eloisa for more information on Artlo.

Lest we forget why we are going to be there. This craft fair is all about the dogs and proceeds will go to an agility course.  Dawg, drop your bones and race like the wind on Saturday.  Bring your humans!  There will be a silent auction and raffle.  Dogs can hear it humans can't; so give your human a nudge. While you relax in a pet spa, your human can visit the 30+ vendors displaying at the fair.
