Remember flashcards? I do.
Still use them? Even better.
No one likes writing up flashcards, let alone lugging them around, so some bright people decided to make a universal flash card program app for the iPhone and iPod Touch. The app? iFlashcards. How appropriate.
The user interface of the iFlashcards app is super-simple. First, it's easiest to sign up for an account. You can do that at their website at iflashcards.net. Simple registration, just username and password. This will allow you to type in your flashcards (or copy/paste from electronic documentation) easier and faster. Then, you can sync it up with your iPhone.
You can create numerous subjects within your iFlashcards app, and within those subjects, you can create different exams. So if you have a history class and you have exams on each chapter, you could have them all in your iPhone at once, which, down the road, when your instructor does a unit review exam or a semester wrap-up quiz, you've got all your past flashcards available to study and recall.
What I love about iFlashcards is that it is a simple app to use, not super-fancy or all graphics-heavy, and it gets the work done. Adding the online functionality of logging in and making flashcards anywhere you are? Now that's just ingenious!
This free app is definitely worth giving a shot. Even if you yourself don't use flashcards, iFlashcards is a good app to have when the kids need to study and you're spending the afternoon at the dentist--learning on the go!
