Michaal Jackson was murdered: at least, that's the extraordinary claim made by his sister, La Toya, in the Britsh newspaper the Mail on Sunday, today.
Fighting back tears, La Toya, 53, said: ‘I believe Michael was murdered, I felt that from the start. Not just one person was involved, rather it was a conspiracy of people."
La Toya's claim about the murder of her brother, Michael Jackson, is not that any one person or group of people deliberately set out to kill him. Rather, that his entourage contained people who were more concentrating on what Michael Jackson could do for them rather than what they could do for him. This led to their concentrating upon how much Jackson could make, for example, through the planned series of concerts in London, England, rather than on the star's own perhaps fragile health.
Thus there was a tendency for some in that entourage to be complicit in his drug taking as long as he continued to prepare for that series of concerts. In some jurisdictions death that resulted from such negligence would not be classified as murder, rather as manslaughter. However, in California, causing death even without premeditation can indeed be classified and prosecuted as murder.
It is worth noting that however extraordinary La Toya's claims about Michael Jackson being murdered seem, LA police chief William Bratton did say last week that investigators had not ruled out homicide as a cause of his death.
