Elizabeth Lambert's soccer antics rather prove the notion that men are nowhere near as vicious as women.
It's an old saying, that men are nowhere near as vicious in their competitiveness as women can be and Elizabeth Lambert certainly tested this idea to destruction in her recent soccer game. She was playing for BYU against New Mexico in the college championships and, well, let the video do the talking to begin with:
That's a fair old set of fouls which any professional player would be proud of. Indeed, they go well beyond what happens in the professional, even European, leagues.
But then there is also the old nostrum that soccer is a gentleman's game played by thugs (the second part being that rugby is a thugs game played by gentlemen: certainly, that game cannot function without a certain respect for the unwritten rules by all involved) which is another saying that Elizabth Lambert seems intent on properly testing here.
