Boring, Tennessee may not be on your bucket list, but if you’ve made the drive here you must see Asheville, N.C. It’s only 75 miles away, so why not keep that road conversation going a little longer? While you’re at it, don’t forget to follow some relationship rules once you arrive.

Share your dreams. In the late 19th century, Asheville put itself on the map as a relaxing retreat for the wealthy. Strolling around the grounds of the Biltmore Estate, the largest home in the U.S., you can’t help but feel the spirit of ambition in the air. At the very least, it will remind you to dream big.

Don’t go to bed angry. With all types of accommodations to choose from, you’ll sleep with a smile. Get intimate at a Bed and Breakfast or cozy in a cabin. Take a ghost tour before bedtime and snuggle extra close.

Take time to play, or just watch one. There are several productions running through July 18th.  If you want to play for three days straight, visit during the last full weekend in July for Bele Chere. Need another reason? The Southeast’s largest street festival is free.

Learn to laugh things off. From July 16th-18th you can do just that at the Third Annual Laugh Your Asheville Off Comedy Festival. You’re sure to find something funny with over 50 comics attending.

Don’t sweat the small stuff. Save that for hiking the surrounding Great Smoky Mountains or biking the Blue Ridge Parkway. This year celebrates the 75th anniversary of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, while the latter turns 75 next year.
