USA Today Top 25 Coaches' Poll - U.C. Bearcats
What ranking will the 'Cats finish the season with?

The USA Today Top 25 Coaches’ Preseason Poll is out. Guess where the Bearcats rank? Guess where Pittsburgh and West Virginia rank? The short answer – they don’t. Unbelievably, the Top 25 is exempt of any Big East squad.

On a positive note, the highest ranked Big East team is our Cincinnati Bearcats. Coaches from around the country slot the ‘Cats as the 29th best team in the country. U.C. is immediately followed in the poll by Pittsburgh (30th), West Virginia (31st), Rutgers (32nd), and South Florida is the final Big East selection, ranking 41st out of the 60 teams listed.

Cincinnati’s first game just happens to be against the Scarlet Knights of Rutgers on September 7. Although it is not an easy task to win at Rutgers Stadium, doing so should propel the ‘Cats into the Top 25. If U.C. is going to prove this preseason ranking is indeed a snub they must prove it on the field.

Bearcat opponents that are ranked in the USA Today Top 25 Coaches’ Poll are Oregon State at 25th (Sept. 19), and Illinois at 35th (Nov. 27).
