Lucasfilm and Atom.com have announced the 22 finalists for the 2009 Star Wars Fan Movie Challenge, an annual contest honoring the best Star Wars-related digital video shorts from all over the galaxy.  Since 2000, Lucasfilm has been partnering with the popular YouTube-style video site for the Star Wars Fan Movie Challenge.  Past winners have included Chad Vader, Star Wars Gangsta Rap, Star Wars Revelations, and Pink Five.

Viewers are invited to log onto StarWars.Atom.com to view and vote on the videos competing for wins in seven competing categories selected by George Lucas himself as well as Lucasfilm and Atom.com staff members. The categories are: George Lucas Selects, Audience Choice, Best Action, Best Comedy, Best Parody, Best Animated Movie, and The Spirit of Fandom Award.

Some of the titles competing this year include Bad Day For Vader, Emperor Palpatine and the Attack of the Copyright Infringement, Glen Eisley Glen Mos, Jedi Camp, Saber, No Love For Wampa, Star Sports Theatrical Trailer, and Star Wars Episode XVI: Family Dysfunction.

Winners will be announced live during the 2009 Star Wars Fan Movie Challenge awards ceremony on Friday July 24th from 8:30 - 10:30pm in Ballroom 20 of the San Diego Comic-Con International.
