The possibility of a college lacrosse video game has the attention of over 53,000 Facebook users.
College Lacrosse 2010, only the second known video game on the sport, is in the final stages of development for use on XBOX360. According to the game's Facebook fan page (which has over 53,000 followers), the game is being submitted to peer review on the platform's Indie Game Channel on October 30.
The XBOX360 Live Indie Game Channel allows for the distribution of smaller games at much less expensive prices than their traditional counterparts. Upon its release, the price point for the College Lacrosse game will be $5.00. (To compare, most new XBOX games are between $40 - 60.)
College Lacrosse 2010 is being developed by Carlo Sunseri, a lacrosse coach out of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and Jonathan "Fritz" Ackerley of Scotland's Triple B Games. Development of the game began in April. The pair claim on the game's website and Facebook page that the game was programmed entirely by one person.

Up until now, the only widely distributed lacrosse video game was Blast Lacrosse, which was made for the original Playstation system. The game, released in May 2001, featured National Lacrosse League teams. There exist various online petitions claiming that EA Sports, the industry leader in sports video games, will create a lacrosse game if a varying amount (100,000 or 1 million) of people sign. The validity of such petitions are questioned.
