The musical version of the Dr. Seuss classic, How the Grinch Stole Christmas, is coming to the Wang Theatre November 26 through December 28.

How the Grinch Stole Christmas! The Musical is the much-loved story of the mean Mr. Grinch, who learns the true meaning of Christmas from the unique, endearing citizens of Whoville.

Aided by a stellar creative team, director Matt August stages the musical production, which is based on the Broadway version conceived and directed by three-time Tony winner Jack O'Brien. The show includes such unforgettable numbers as "You're A Mean One, Mr. Grinch" and "Welcome Christmas".

The Grinch's journey began in 1957, when the original book, by beloved writer/illustrator Dr. Seuss (Theodor Geisel), was released. It was a made into a now-legendary animated television special in 1966. There was a less-memorable film version, entitled The Grinch, produced in 2000, starring Jim Carrey.

The musical version was originally produced at The Old Globe theater in San Diego in 1998 and subsequently performed every holiday season thereafter. The Broadway version premiered in 2006.
