Occasionally I see a news story about a win – about how a crook was caught – and I think, sure, we caught THAT one, but I bet that same crooked behavior is going on elsewhere and someone’s getting away with it.

This is one of those stories:

Mercedes Hernandez charged with scamming immigrants out of thousands

promised her unwitting victims help in securing permanent residence and assured them she had the connections necessary to get them proper legal documents… …delivered on none of her promises… When confronted by her victims, the heartless scam artist threatened to turn them over to authorities…”
