The current leaders are Tom Pernice, Jr., Troy Matteson, and Spencer Levin, who each shot 62. Following close behind are Bob Heintz and Martin Laird with 63s, and Jim Furyk and Scott Piercy with 64s. The leader board continues to be very tight after that as a large percentage of the field shot in the 60s.
Jim Furyk continued the postive momentum from being part of the winning United States Presidents Cup team by shooting a great round. He was joined in the field by American teammates Hunter Mahan, who shot 70, and Anthony Kim, who struggled on his way to a 72.
Kim is trying to get focused on golf again after being involved in a controversy with Australian Robert Allenby, who accused Kim of being a "loose cannon" and the "current John Daly" of the tour. Allenby since claimed this was taken out of context and apologized to Kim.
The PGA tour season is coming to an end, and with four fall series events remaining, the players are looking to get themselves into the top 125 on the money list which will ensure exemption on tour for 2010.
