Reserve guard Gabe Pruitt was reportedly arrested last night in Los Angeles, according to celebrity website TMZ.com.
Pruitt, a member of the Boston Celtics, was pulled over around 3:15 AM in the Hollywood area. Sources tell TMZ Pruitt failed a field sobriety test and had a blood alcohol level well over the legal limit.
He was taken to a local jail and booked on suspicion of driving under the influence. His bail was $5,000.
The Celtics have typically had a very short leash for players who commit this kind of transgression. It doesn't help that he's not a rotation player. All teams have more patience, and forgiveness, for a player who contributes on a daily basis.
We'll reserve judgment until all the facts come out, but I wouldn't be surprised if the Celtics come down hard on Pruitt.
