WWE is producing a 3-disc Best of Raw 2009 set (on 1/26/2010), leading many to assume that the whole DVD will be bad Santino skits and horrible guest host segments. This needn’t be the case, at least in the DVD’s entirety. Surely, some of the DVD will be devoted to the (perceived) weaker segments, but there are some important segments and good matches that can make the set worthwhile:
First of all, the Donald Trump Raw purchase and commercial free week will surely be featured. Along with this will be the commercial free Raw main event of Triple H vs. Randy Orton, a good match to be sure.
This will lead into the guest hosts. I’m assuming there won’t be a feature on every single one, but both the Shaq episode and the Bob Barker episode deserve to be preserved.
Legacy will be a big focus of this set, with, hopefully, Orton vs. Rhodes and Orton vs. Dibiase segments shown, since each are among the more intelligently booked segments of the year. Legacy’s continued assaults of D-X seem like they’d make it, as well.
Further, Kofi Kingston destroying the Legacy car was a great moment, sure to make the set.
What’s one of these sets without John Cena? Cena has two must-have segments that belong here. First is his Miz feud. They had a very good match on Raw that should be included on this set. (The Calgary Kid Miz return and U.S. Title win might be shown, as well). Next is the Cena vs. Triple H match from Cena’s “last Raw” which is another great match.
Finally, we’ll get a lot of D-X segments. This will probably not be great, but if they choose the right ones, like when with Snoop Dog or the cardboard cutout of Shawn, then these might be a surprise highlight.
And then we have the DVD seller. Hornswaggle vs. Chavo in all it’s incredibly long glory. You know you want it.
