There are few things that I enjoy more than preparing a meal from really fresh ingredients, then sitting down to table with friends and family to enjoy fine food and good conversation.
But there are some. And one of those things is not having to clean up the kitchen after one of my afternoons of puttering in the kitchen.
The perfect antidote to that situation is a good meal out. What better way to reward the cook?
Recently, I gave myself a night off and enjoyed a great deal too. Elementi must be thinking what I'm thinking: Mom's Night Off. Every Monday night, the Brooklyn restaurant serving pan-Italian cuisine offers diners two pasta dinners with a bottle of either red or white wine for $29.95.
We had a nice bottle of merlot paired with Spaghetti Bolognese and Rigatoni Siciliana. The meal began with complimentary goat cheese and roasted red pepper bruschetta and ended with a limoncello, also gratis.
Mom's Night Off, indeed!
