Doctors are keeping a close eye on David Beckham this weekend as concerns grow that the soccer star may have been exposed to Swine Flu.
There is no confirmation at this time that he actually has the illnes.
After his LA Galaxy team-mate Landon Donovan and two club staff were confirmed to have the virus, speculation grew that not only has David Beckham been exposed to to the virus, he may have also been in incredibly tight quarters with it.
If so, there's is ahigh probability that he could contract the illness.
Donovan complained of flu-like symptoms after the Galaxy’s game at New England Revolution last Sunday, where Beckham also played.
Galaxy officials think Donovan likely contracted Swine Flu from a club administrator and a chiropractor who were also tested positively for the virus.
Galaxy general manager Bruce Arena is trying desperately to calm nervous players, fans, and team officials.
“My understanding is that this is a mild strain of a flu… Landon is not infectious. He has a slight strain of the flu and he's at the tail-end of it. There's no need for alarm.”
