Despite his tragic passing last week, Michael Jackson's fans may soon be treated to a new album from the King of Pop.
And another.
And then another.
The AP is reporting that the individuals aware of the contents of Michael Jackson's personal vaults claim that the late singer has left behind volumes upon volumes of original studio recordings that the public has never heard.
According to the report:
Executives and lawyers who know the material anticipate the swelling demand of fans should be satisfied with unreleased tracks from studio sessions of some of Jackson's best albums, as well as more recently recorded songs made with Akon and will.i.am.
The use of the word "endless" to describe the vast quantities of music possessed by Jackson is attributed to Tommy Mottola, the former chairman and CEO of Sony Music, which the AP reports owns the distribution rights to Jackson's music.
There is no word yet as to when any of the material will be culled into a new album. But Mottola said that "new and repackaged releases could go on for years and years — even more than Elvis."
