The outrage has not subsided.
After years of reports of his abusive parenting to his iconic children,
what finally proved the straw to break the camel's back was Joe Jackson's comments following his son Michael Jackson's death. It was enough to make many fans finally despise the man.
After Joe Jackson, the aging patriarch of the Jackson family appeared at the BET Awards show on Sunday night, fans of the late King of Pop have used words ranging from "cold-hearted" to "disgusting" to describe their reaction to the interview Jackson provided to CNN.
Since the award ceremony, there has been more talk about the interview with Jackson than the evening's tribute to his son.
According to the report from CNN:
"Remember, we just lost the biggest superstar in the world," Jackson said. When the reporter asked Jackson about how his wife Katherine was doing, Jackson replied that "she's fine." He also had a publicist read out a statement from the family. When asked about details about a previous statement of his in which he said he has "concerns" surrounding Michael's last moments, Jackson simply said, " I don't like what happened." When asked about Janet and the rest of the family, Jackson replied, "They're all doing fine."
Although Joe Jackson appeared awkwardly short on words, empathy, and emotion over the loss of his son only three days earlier, fans have observed that Jackson still managed to take adequate time to plug his new record label and discuss the "next steps for Blu-ray technology."
Are MJ fans expecting too much from a man we have long known to be emotionally stoic, or has Joe Jackson finally revealed his true nature to a public heartbroken over the loss of their beloved Michael Jackson?
