Governor Jim Gibbons' administration has recently revamped a once poorly constructed website intended to monitor the American Recovery & Reinvestment Act of 2009 funds which were allocated to the State of Nevada.
The new website (located here) contains a somewhat more "detailed" analysis of the fund distribution, including 2 graphs.
The first measures the Estimated Amount of Funds received by NV Agencies & is updated as new information becomes available.
As of 10/27/09, "Employment, Rehabilitation, and Training;" "Health & Human Services (DHHS);" and both Educational agencies (NV Dept. of Education & Board of Regents) are among the top recipients.
The second graph measures the Total ARRA Jobs Created/Retained in the state of NV.
It currently shows that the Dept. of Education is the largest (by a significant margin) "new employer." Or perhaps those are "retained" educators? That remains to be seen.
While perhaps not the most "user friendly" webpage I've visited recently, it's miles & miles ahead of the previous site which received very poor ratings in a recent "inspection."
Definitely a nice attempt at keeping the citizens of NV informed about the progress this legislation has made in our own state.
Thank you, Governor Gibbons.
