The Travel Channel's "Ghost Adventures" will be broadcasting a 7-hour live event Friday, October 30th. The program is set to begin at 7 p.m. Central and will conclude at 2 a.m.
The team, composed of ghost hunters Zac, Nick, and Aaron, will be locked inside in order to investigate the old Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum (renamed Weston State Hospital in 1913), a legendary landmark in Weston, West Virginia,.
The asylum was an extremely violent place to be over the course of the last twenty-years due to patients killing other patients, and female staff were raped and killed. A nurse who worked at the facility was
found dead after missing for two months after being murdered and her body dumped at the bottom of an unused staircase.
Witnesses have reported screams coming from the area used for electro-shock and seeing full-body apparitions of patients and doctors roaming the hallway and rooms. Voices have also been heard.
The fourth floor and the Civil War wing of the Trans-Allegheny is reportedly the most active area. Banging, voices, whispering and other strange sounds have been heard on the fourth floor.
The Trans-Allegheny is obviously haunted by many entities. I can't wait to see the Ghost Adventures team do their live investigation of one of the most haunted places in the country.
In addition to being broadcast live on the Travel Channel, those who wish to can also view it on Stickam or on the Travel Channel's website.
