Gun jammed or suspect may have claimed another officer.
The murder suspect of Officer Brenton, when approached by officers, tried to shoot at an officer when his gunned failed to fire. He fled, then turned toward the officer’s in attempt to shoot a second time and was dropped by a shot to the head.
It now seems it was three Seattle police detectives that returned fire wounding the suspected assassin.
A search of his apartment produced two rifles as well as some (IED’s) improvised explosive devices.
The bomb squad defused the devices before removing the evidence from the apartment.
The law enforcement profiler that put out the profile of what kind of suspect might responsible for this incident, the day before he was captured, was spot on. It would be hard to write a better profile of the suspect if you did it after his capture.
All of the officers of the Seattle police department as well as those from other participating agencies, can be very proud of their efforts in bringing this suspect to justice.
The people of the City of Seattle can be proud of the support they gave their police department during these horrible days that followed this cowardly attack.
The department’s leadership including the other members of the city government up to including the Mayor, have earned the right to be proud of the way they conducted themselves during this most difficult time.
Now the healing can begin where it was impossible to start the process while this domestic terrorist was on the loose.
The thoughts and prayers of every law abiding citizen in the country go to the family of Officer Brenton.
Those same prayers go Officer Sweeney, and to all of the officers of the Seattle police department in this time of sorrow.
