Ages old argument about different parts of Mexico leads to a shooting death.
Chelan county WA. In a restaurant a restaurant employee Javier Valdovinos was in the process of closing up a restaurant when he contacted a group of men to see if they needed anything before he closed.
One of the men at the table Jesus Cortez made some comment about he and Valdovinos where from in Mexico. This started an argument as it frequently does for some unknown reason.
The situation got worse and the two men started shoving each other around. Other restaurant employees interceded to break up the fight.
At this point Valdovins the employee pulled a gun from his back pocket and shot Cortez. When Cortez fell to the floor Valdovinos shot him again perhaps several times. Cortez died of multiple gunshot wounds.
Valdovinos fled the scene in a maroon Cadillac and is considered armed and obviously very dangerous.
In my years in San Diego I probably saw upwards of a dozen homicides that took place between Mexican Nationals arguing over the various parts of Mexico they were from. I’m no expert by evidently there is some deep seated anger over things that occurred generations ago between various states within Mexico.
Not unlike the mob in Sicily where they still have vendetta killings over things that happened years ago and sometimes several generations ago. It when people from various states start talking about where their from in Mexico it's the spark that ignites into a gun battle or knife fight.
