Troy Schafer, Army Veteran and produce manager at Randall’s Grocery Store in Round Rock, Texas is a hero. Make no mistake about it. After hearing a woman’s cry for help, he chased down a 15-year old purse snatcher and handed him over to police.  Surely a crime stopper reward is in order right? Wrong. His reward is in the form of the unemployment line. He was fired for HELPING A WOMAN.

The store says they have a strict policy to be cowards and to run for cover when criminals strike. So to all the remaining Randall’s employees, if you see someone being victimize, bury your head or go and hide because you will be fired for helping your fellow man.  As far as I’m concerned, it seems Randall’s has just invited criminals to their store as well as send the message to their customers they are not worth helping if in trouble.

Victim Ann Welch met with Randall's management to ask for a reconsideration for Shafer and the store said, "it was out of our hands."  Spoken like a true yes man.
