Art by Marc T. Hicks

There are ten principles behind the making of an excellent kung fu movie. When executed correctly, each principle will add to the final product, thus producing a film that is well worth the perusal of the kung fu movie aficionado.

All kung fu movies can be broken down to its ten base elements; the villain, dialogue, plot, the master, the lead female, the hero, weapons, action, the slimy second in command, and the henchmen. Without these elements you have a film that is not worthy of the mantle kung fu movie.

The following articles shall deal specifically with an individual principle. And at the end of this series, every reader shall have the necessary tools to produce a movie on the level of such films as Gymkata or The Story of Rikki O.

So sit yourself down. Take the red pill with a large glass of excitement. And free your mind to THE TAO OF KUNG FU MOVIES!
