Meals on Wheels provides healthy meals to seniors
Take your kids with you to deliver some smiles.

It's OK to start at a young age and explain to your kids that some people are less fortunate, sick, or elderly and need help.  The best way to teach your child about charitable giving is to give as a family, whether it's your money or your time.

Here are ways you can get your children involved in giving back to the Wichita community...

Allowance - Set aside a portion of your child's allowance for charitable giving and talk as a family about what charities to give to

Food Pantry - Get your kids into the kitchen to select some non-perishable food items for your church's food pantry.  The Kansas Food Bank at 1919 E Douglas St. also accepts food donations from 8:00AM to 4:30PM, Monday through Friday

Senior Services of Wichita - Take your child with you to deliver some Meals on Wheels or work with Neighborhood Connection doing yard work or housework at a senior's home. Learn more about volunteering here.

Go Shopping for Youthville - Youthville's mission is Giving Children Back Their Childhood.  As one of Kansas' largest child welfare agencies, Youthville regularly needs materials to support their children and families.  Pick up some items at your local discount store and deliver them to the Wichita office at 4505 E. 47th St. South.  Click here for their current wish list.

Giving your time and money as a family is a fantastic way to teach children about their role in the community and help them appreciate what they have even more.
