“I am tomorrow, or some future day, what I establish today. I am today what I established yesterday or some previous day.”

This quote reminds me of how grateful I am each day on my walk to work (even in the snow). On my walk, I venture past the Constitution Center and Independence Hall; I work in the publishing industry a short distance from Ben Franklin's original printing press.

As descendents of the Irish living in a politically charged environment, Irish Americans can easily see the sadness in love and the terror in the beauty. Death, even in that most revolutionary of wars, can be vainglorious. Though it offers deeper and more meaningful insight to think in such terms, it is also helpful to remember that each day is new.
