Losing weight in just a few days is very feasible. You, too, can be swimsuit ready and shed those last 5 pounds in a week or less. Here are 4 easy steps:

1. Drink mostly water - Water does a number of things for the body. It fills the stomach and provides a feeling of fullness. Water also flushes fat and calories through the body faster. Drinking 8 8-oz glasses of water, everyday will contribute to a weight loss when used in conjuction with these other steps. Cut back on soda, smoothies, and protein shake. When trying to lose weight rapidly, these are wasted calories because they are not filling.
2. Do 30 minutes of cardio every day. At the gym, 30 minutes on the treadmill, stairmaster, or eliptical machine are ideals ways to burn calories and fat through cardiovascular exercise. At home, some easy alternatives are jumping jacks, running in place, running up and down the stairs, and dancing. If you're short on time, break up the exercise into 10 minutes intervals. It will still be just as effective.
3. Give up white bread and white pasta. These simple carbohydrate remain in the body for longer than complex carbs found in fruits and vegetables. Simple carbs convert to fat. Wheat breads and pasta are a healthier alternative.
4. Do crunches and lunges every day. This is a trick that body builders use right before a competition to add a look of long lean muscles. Doing 36 (3 sets of 12) lunges every day to start to create lean muscle and reduce fat in the thighs. Do 50 crunches as well.
