Cristian was painting without his shirt on, but when Oliver Fish came home, he pulled it on. Fish assured Cris that he wasn’t his type, and when Cris asked what Fish’s type was, Oliver answered, “Kyle.”

Cristian tried to convince Fish that Kyle was “settling.” He told his roommate that Kyle probably wanted Fish to work to deserve him. Fish told Cris that Kyle and Nick were getting married.

As the conversation progressed, Fish encouraged Cris to be with Layla. Cris explained Layla’s situation with her sister, Evangeline, who Cris once dated and who was in a coma. As the guys sat down to watch football, John called Fish and he had to leave.

Cris and Layla discussed “waiting too long” to admit one’s feelings. Layla reiterated that she couldn’t be with Cristian because of Evangeline. Cris tried to convince Layla to let Evangeline go and move on. Layla told him that she could not throw her sister under the bus and that she still believed that Evangeline would wake up.

Later, Layla told Cris that she was going to move out of the apartment. Cristian insisted that it was her apartment, and he moved out himself.

Nick delivered Kyle the tux he was to wear for their wedding. He was afraid that his husband-to-be was having second thoughts. He was sure that Kyle was not over Fish. Kyle assured Nick that he was going to go through with the wedding.

Todd told Blair that he couldn’t trust people. She knew he was talking about Tea, who Blair had told him was scheming to take all of Todd’s money. Blair told Todd that she did not want to be alone and she was sure he didn’t either. They lay down on the bed in her room together.

Tea chatted with her daughter, Danielle, on the phone. Danielle didn’t understand why she had to be in boarding school. While they were talking, Ross found Tea on the phone at La Boulaie. When Danielle heard his voice, she wanted to talk to him.

Though Tea tried to tell Ross that she was talking to a client, he was sure it was “Dani.” Tea hung up the phone, and she and Ross struggled for the phone. Tea smashed a vase over Ross’s head and deleted Danielle’s number from her phone’s memory before hurrying upstairs and finding Todd and Blair on Blair’s bed.

Todd told Tea that Blair had “remembered” her scheme to take all his money. When Ross entered the room, Tea told him that she had told “the truth” and admitted their scheme.

Jessica answered the phone and it was her dead husband Nash’s voice on the line. He said that it was cold and he needed help. Viki and Charlie came home to find Jessica panicking. Viki called John McBain.

Viki comforted Jessica, who told her mother that Brody was in Michigan helping his sister. When John arrived, Jessica explained the phone call. John informed the family that he had recorded the call – their phones were tapped – but he promised Viki that no one would hear the calls.

With Fish’s help setting things up, John compared the call Jessica received with a sample of Nash’s voice from a voice mail message she had saved. They were an identical match.

Later, Brody called Jessica. Jessica told him about the strange phone call. Brody wanted to return home, but his sister, Nadine, begged him to stay in Michigan until the foreclosure meeting on their mother’s house the next week. Brody made plans to return to Llanview and Jessica, promising he would come back for the meeting. Unfortunately, Nadine slipped something in his coffee so that he couldn’t leave. She then used his phone to call someone and told him or her that she went through with the “emergency plan.”

After finishing her call with Brody, Jessica received another mysterious call from “Nash,” asking her to come help him at his vineyard in Napa.

Still on administrative leave, Fish went to visit Kyle. Fish told Kyle that he still wanted to be with him, and asked Kyle to just wait for him to adjust to being “out” and give them a chance at being a couple again. Kyle said that he wasn’t going to wait any more – he had been waiting since college and he and Fish were over. He said that he wanted a guy who wasn’t afraid to hold his hand while walking down the street, and that Nick was that man.

Langston and Starr tried to convince Markko and Cole to attend Dorian’s wedding with them, but the boys were reluctant. Markko was concerned that he would lose his family, which he had just started getting along with again. The teens discussed Dorian’s intentions and Markko and Cole refused to attend the wedding.

Matthew apologized to Danielle for his roommate, Tom, taking her phone. The two teens swapped bad parent stories. Later, Dani came to visit Matthew again. She let Matthew listen to the voice mail that Destiny had left on her phone. When Matthew started to call Destiny back, the headmistress suddenly appeared and made Danielle leave the room.

In the meantime, Bo and Nora were worrying about Matthew and decided to visit him. Matthew told his parents that if they really loved him, they would let him have his surgery, and if they didn’t want to do that, then they should just leave. Bo and Nora left, but gave Matthew a cell phone.

Matthew offered to let Danielle use his phone to call her father, but when she tried, his phone had been disconnected. She encouraged Matthew to call Destiny or his lawyer.

Nora and Bo returned to the Buchanan compound very unhappy with Matthew and his behavior. To relieve their frustrations, they smashed the crystal in the sitting room, and then kissed. They continued to kiss, stopping only moments before Kevin (Clint’s son) entered the room.

Nora regretted kissing Bo, and said that their kiss was not a big deal. Bo disagreed, saying that they had a lot to deal with – “us.” Nora insisted that there was nothing to deal with because she loved Clint. They argued, and Bo told Nora that he still loved her.

Following a clue from a matchbook that his sister, Natalie, had found, Rex searched a hotel for her husband, Jared. In their hotel room, Rex asked Natalie what she would do if they found Jared. He said he did not want her to go on the run.

A hotel employee knocked on their door and said that he had seen Jared, and that Jared had borrowed his computer. Rex and Natalie used the computer to find travel plans that Jared had made. It appeared that he was going to Napa.

John discussed his concern with Marty that Jared was mixed up in a plan that had gone wrong and that Natalie might end up being the next person to be killed. John tried to have Natalie’s cell phone traced, but she had disabled the GPS tracking device. It occurred to a frustrated John that he missed a clue at the Buchanan lodge, and that it was possible that Natalie had picked up on it.

John paid a visit to Gigi, looking for Rex. When he found out that Rex was not home, he tracked Rex’s credit card. John told Jessica that he was going after Rex and Natalie.

John showed up at the hotel where Rex and Natalie had been and asked an employee if he had seen Jared, Natalie or Rex. The man answered that Natalie and Rex were going home to Llanview.

Roxy asked Schuyler to deliver Rex, Gigi and Shane’s costumes to them because she was very busy with her salon (because of the big gay wedding ceremony). When Shane saw Schuyler delivering the costumes, he asked him to fill in for Rex since his father wasn’t home, and he didn’t think that he and his mother could win the costume contest at the Halloween party alone.

Jack, Sam, Todd, and Blair attended the Halloween party as “The Fantastic Four” while Schuyler, Gigi, and Shane went as “The Dynamic Trio” of Batman, Robin, and Catgirl. “The Dynamic Trio” won the costume contest and Jack wanted a recount. Blair assured him they would win the next year. Blair invited Todd and their boys to go to Dorian’s wedding with her, but they preferred a haunted house.

Schuyler and Gigi opened his mail to find out he was accepted to medical school. Excited, he kissed Gigi. She decided to be honest with Schuyler and admitted that she was jealous about his date with Kim. She admitted that she had feelings for him, but that she didn’t want to. That was part of the reason that she and Rex needed counseling.

Kyle invited Roxy to attend his wedding, but she was reluctant because she did not want to support him when he was marrying the wrong man.

David answered the door at La Boulaie in just a towel. It was Viki. In the sitting room, Viki caught Dorian yelling at her personal shopper about the shoes she wanted to wear to the wedding. Viki informed Dorian that because of her family crisis, she was not going to be able to participate in her final debate against Dorian that evening, after the wedding ceremony. David stood up for Viki when she accused Dorian of playing for votes.

Dorian tried to convince Viki that her feelings about gay rights were genuine. When Viki left, Viki tried to convince David to tell Dorian that he loved her. Dorian told David that she had to put the town before her own personal life.

Amelia visited with Nick and Kyle before the wedding, and told Nick that she was going to put “phase three” of her plan in motion. When she returned to La Boulaie, she suggested that Dorian promise to issue all of the gay couples real marriage licenses “when” she was elected mayor. She also told Dorian that despite their marriage, Dorian could still have a relationship with David if they planned carefully.

Destiny visited David at La Boulaie. She told him that she wanted to save Matt, and that she had already bought the plane tickets to England. She accidentally blurted to David that she loved Matthew. David agreed to go to England with Destiny.

Dorian asked David’s advice on whether or not she should legitimize the same-sex marriages she would be participating in that day. He said that it didn’t matter what he thought. David told Dorian that he was quitting her campaign to support someone who couldn’t be with the person they loved.

Destiny told her father that she had been studying in the hospital morgue without her books. She “reminded him” that she was going on a school trip to Washington that day, and he gave her some cash for the trip, to be used only for emergencies.

David prepared to leave with Destiny, but Dorian stopped him. She was wearing the wedding dress from the time when she and David had almost gotten married, but he had refused her at the alter. She offered to let David give her away, and he answered that he had already given her away. She closed her eyes and kept them closed until David was gone.

Rachel visited Tea. Tea told Rachel about Ross’s temper, and Rachel wanted to call the police about it. Tea refused to let her. She said that she did not tell Todd the truth about their daughter because she found him in bed with Blair – again.

Shaun signed his release papers at the hospital and prepared to take Rachel on the date he had promised her before he had been shot. When he left the room to get dressed, his father told his brother, Greg, that he thought Greg and Rachel should be together. He told Greg that it was all up to Rachel.

When Rachel came to the hospital, Shaun asked if she was free to go on a date that night.

Elijah told Ross that he had found Danielle by tracking Tea’s phone calls, and that Dani was in a boarding school in London. Eli said that he would go get her since Ross was in trouble with the law. Ross lost his temper with Elijah because he wanted to find Dani himself. He knocked Elijah down and took his credit card and the information about his daughter.

Tea’s phone rang. It was Matthew. Dani, who was in the room, did not know who Matthew’s lawyer was, but when Matthew told Tea that he had been kidnapped to England, Tea was very concerned and wanted to know where. Danielle wondered if Matthew’s lawyer could help her with her parental issues as well. Before Matthew and Tea could discuss anything, she had to hang up.

Elijah reported to Tea what Ross had done, and that he knew Danielle was at the Warwick School in London. She panicked when Elijah confirmed that Ross had used his charge card to buy a ticket to London. Tea and Eli quickly booked their own flight.

At the wedding protest, Dorian introduced Amelia to her ex-son-in-law, Andrew, who was going to officiate at the weddings. It was awkward. They discussed Dorian’s daughter, Cassie, who believed in “the cause” but knew the truth. Andrew asked about the rest of the family, and told Dorian that he was very sorry that more of her family wouldn’t come. Dorian was overjoyed when Starr and Langston arrived. The girls were all pleasantly surprised when Cole and Markko showed up as well.

Fish was called back to duty temporarily to help keep the peace at the protest. Cris saw him on television and came to support him. Fish wanted to know why Cristian was moving out of their apartment. Then, Layla also showed up.

One of Markko’s mother’s friends saw Markko and questioned him, and then Cole, Markko, Starr, and Langston teased the protesters by pretending to be gay as well. Fish was amused.

Dorian had an announcement to make, and gave a speech in which she told the crowd that “when” she was elected mayor, she would issue real marriage licenses to all of the couples getting symbolically married that day. Nick told Kyle that it was Amelia’s idea.

Amelia wanted to know where David was, and Dorian told her that he wasn’t coming. Amelia asked if David was still an issue.

Roxy showed up for the wedding after all, looking fabulous. She gave Kyle the same rabbit foot that she gave Rex on his wedding day to Adriana, saying that it worked because Rex ended up with the woman he loved.

Annoyed with the closed-minded protestors, Fish proclaimed that he was gay. He said that he prayed that someday he would be able to marry the man that he loved. Kyle heard the speech and was proud of Fish.

Fish’s proclamation also got to Dorian, who was happy to see Blair show up. Langston could tell something was wrong, and Dorian admitted to her daughter that she still loved David.

On the airplane bound for London, David told Destiny that he and Dorian were soul mates. Destiny told David that she was going to tell Matthew that she loved him.

Back in London, Danielle had an idea. She wanted to “bust out.”

Questions:

The big political race between Dorian and Viki is already almost over?  Did anyone see it?

Yes!  Satisfying moments of the week:

When Markko expressed his concerns about what his family might think if he attended Dorian's lesbian wedding, Langston told him, “Ernesto Rivera is just going to have to get over it, because it is Dorian’s world too!”

Dorian said to Viki, "So, you have an alcoholic husband and a daughter with mental illness, and another daughter whose husband is up on murder charges; but I still have an out-gay lesbian fiancée!"  Viki turned to David.  "Did she really just say that?"  He chomped into his apple.

Destiny told David, “It’s just money.”  Gasping, he scolded, “I will wash that mouth out with soap!”

Paying a little homage to the past, David told Destiny that Dorian was an excellent … cook … a “very creative” one.  In a flashback, viewers were taken to some creative "cooking" that Dorian and David once did in her kitchen ... on her counter.

When protesters jeered at the gay assembly at the mass wedding ceremony, Dorian told the crowd, “They have every right to be here … and so do we!”  God bless America, and daytime soaps!

Spoiler Alert!

Remember that guy in the long-term care facility that Roxy unwittingly failed to kill?  Rex's father?  He's someone that Dorian and Viki know all too well.
