Here's the worst kept secret of the 2008 Presidential Election: Psst! White people voted for Obama, too. I call it the reverse Bradley effect.  Many people were polled ahead of the election and found to be "undecided," "Republican," or "Hillary supporters." However, when these same people went to the polls, they voted for Obama.

All of the post - election maps show blue where there has never been blue before. Obama won by sixty-three percent in Massachusetts. He won all of New England and all three eastern seaboard tri-state areas. He also won in Republican strongholds, such as Pennsylvania, Florida and Virginia. He even won in Ohio!

Yes. The African - American voter turn out was very strong. And Obama definitely got the support of  what one political pundit called, "the Starbucks vote." But these two sectors couldn't have carried the election alone. Some dyed-in-the-wool, Republicans, red state, red necks, good ol' boys and soccer moms voted for Obama. They may not have admitted as much to their friends and family, but they helped elect the forty-fourth President of the United States.

Get inspired and get involved!
