Darren Star, the creator of the hit series that turned women into fabulous, foul-mouthed floozies and turned America on to New York decadence, has signed a two-year first-look deal with the network that, for six seasons, called the legendary show home.
Under the agreement, Star will create an original series - the first in nearly a decade - in addition to overseeing and developing comedy and drama projects for other writers. Star gushes, "They say you can never go home again, but with this deal at HBO, I feel I am. I can say from my fortunate experience, there is nothing in the world quite like having a series at HBO."
A fan of Sex and the City as well as Beverly Hills: 90210 and Melrose Place, I, for one, can't wait to see what he comes up with.
