Update:

The NBA has set the salary cap for the 2009-2010 season ESPN.com is reporting. The cap figure will be $57.7 million with a luxury tax set at $69.92 million. The league imposes a dollar-for-dollar tax on any number over the luxury tax threshold.

The midlevel exception has also been set at $5.854 million.

Jeff McDonald of the Express News is reporting that San Antonio has offered Antonio McDyess a 3-year contract starting at the full mid level with a third year partially guaranteed.

If McDyess accepts, it will complete a massive overahaul of the Spurs’ roster.

Prospective newcomers may include Richard Jefferson, DeJuan Blair, Jack McClinton, Marcus Haislip and Antonio McDyess. That group presumably replaces Bruce Bowen, Fabricio Oberto, Kurt Thomas and Drew Gooden.

Contracts can be signed beginning Wednesday.
