I recently had the pleasure of speaking to Los Angels Sol midfielder Manya Makoski. Manya will be one of the vital parts for the Los Angels Sol next season. But since the season is over, I took the opportunity to ask her about life on and off the field.

Manya is living her dream of playing the game of her chilhood idol Christine Lilly. But the soccer superstar was not the reason Manya began playing soccer. It was after watching her older brothers that she decided soccer was what she wanted to do.

" I looked up to my brothers and I always wanted to do everything they did"

As we all Sol fans know the season ended in disappointing fashion. No one more disappointed than Manya.

" I think about it everyday. But, I was thankful to be have played in [the championship game] it was an awesome experience."

Many's life is not all about soccer, she admitted that she loves to dance. So if there was any way that Manya could cheer herself up, it would be by dancing to the beat of a nice Hip Hop song. I was trying to figure out how she became a Suns fan since she grew up in Trumbull, Connecticut, but then I realized she also attended Arizona State.

Manya has a many great soccer years left in her career but once her career is all said and done, she wants to leave her own mark.

" I want to play at the national team level and I want to look back at my years, and say that I gave it my all"
