Self Defense Class By AdamJackson1984
St. Louis -- Everyone wants to keep themselves and their families safe. According to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department Crime Summary By Neighborhood 2009: Data for January through May there have been 48 murders, 97 rapes, 769 armed robberies, 1,039 aggregated assaults involving a gun, and 107 arsons in St. Louis alone. This is not including our neighboring cities like; St. Charles, Berkeley, Florissant, Jennings, St. Peters, East St. Louis, and Hazelwood just to name a few.

We need to educate ourselves on how to stay safe. Taking a self defense class is the first step to doing this.  Know how to protect yourself and those you love.

St. Louis Self Defense & Fitness has been in the St. Louis area since 2004. You can take a free class at the school even if you do not sign up for reoccurring classes. Take advantage of this opportunity. Register for the free classes on their website. www.stlouisselfdefense.com

Learn how to defend yourself in almost any situation. St. Louis Self Defense & Fitness promises a “workout with an attitude” and understands that “being prepared brings peace of mind.” This is why the school is the only one in the Midwest that is certified in offering Survival – Commando Krav Maga, their core self defense curriculum.

The classes offered are:

Self Defense Classes
- Commando Krav Maga where you learn self defense from guns, knives, chokes, and punches.
- Kids Kick for ages 7 – 14 to learn the practicality of self defense and to know when to use the skills.

Fitness Classes
- Extreme conditioning
- KO Bag Kickboxing
- Kettlebell
- Core Strength

Fight Classes
- Core Combatives teaches new striking techniques for self defense and fighting.
- All Fight strengthens your self-defense and ring fighting skills to better your offence and defense. This class uses both standing and ground fighting styles.

The classes are all usually 1 hour long and you may attend your class, as well as a class one level down from yours, as often as you like. So flexibility is offered. St. Louis Self Defense & Fitness is located at 9001 Manchester Rd, Brentwood, Missouri 63144.

Learning self defense is going to help you help yourself. With the free self defense class that St. Louis Self Defense & Fitness offers you do not even have to pay anything, all you need to do is register. Local townships usually provide a yearly or quarterly self defense class. Call your city hall for details. These classes are usually held for free to residents and only charge a small fee to non-residents.

Educating ourselves is the best thing we can do to help fight crime. Let’s make St. Louis a safer place for us all one person at a time.
