Lighting: Artificial lighting accounts for 44 percent of electrical use in office buildings. When possible, use natural light. When artificial lighting is needed, use Energy Star-rated light bulbs and fixtures along with energy saving controls. As well, using photo sensors, which dim or turn lights up depending on the amount of natural light present, and occupancy sensors, which turn lights off in an area that is not in use, can help save electricity.
Computers: Invest in energy-saving computer equipment, recycle old equipment, and turn off your computer when not in use.
