An author you'd love to have lunch with: I wish I could have lunched with Madeleine L'Engle when she was alive. Her books were so important to me growing up. Also Gladys Malvern, who wrote young adult English historicals
, which started my early love of that genre.
Your most embarassing moment: There've been so many--how do I narrow it down?

Three things you'd do with a million dollars: Retire from my "other job" (E.R. nurse), have a winter home in Texas, and fund my grandchildren's college educations--hope it would go that far!
