Laurie Kingery is the author of seventeen historical romances. She won the Reader's Choice Award for her Harlequin Historical, THE RAVEN AND THE SWAN, in 1994. Laurie lives in central Ohio with her husband Tom--whom she met on eHarmony.com!-- three dogs and two cats. She has two children and six grandchildren. She is a 36-year veteran RN of an inner-city emergency room. A Christian since her teenage years, she is a member of Quest Community Church of New Albany.

Your favorite candy bar: Reese cups (not really a candy *bar*, exactly) or Cadbury's mint

Which gift card would you most like to receive? Coldwater Creek or Barnes and Noble

Do you (or did you ever) play any instruments? I dabbled at guitar--was never good. Wish I'd applied myself.

Your favorite part of the writing process: When the "flow" is really there and it's coming as fast as I can type--all too rare, unfortunately!

An author you'd love to have lunch with: I wish I could have lunched with Madeleine L'Engle when she was alive. Her books were so important to me growing up. Also Gladys Malvern, who wrote young adult English historicalsSteeple Hill love inspired book, which started my early love of that genre.

Your most embarassing moment: There've been so many--how do I narrow it down? 

The last movie you watched: "New in Town"

Three things you'd do with a million dollars: Retire from my "other job" (E.R. nurse), have a winter home in Texas, and fund my grandchildren's college educations--hope it would go that far!

Are you a tomboy or girlie-girl: Girly-girl, but not lacy-frilly

Favorite season: Spring
