Baltimore, the time is now to get fit and healthy

Remember back in January when you vowed to look and feel great in 08? That this would be THE year to lose weight, eat healthfully and finally start using that gym you joined on a regular basis?

If you’ve kept your resolution and left your old habits in the dust, congratulations!! Please write to me and let me know what you’re doing to stay healthy and fit.  But I’m guessing that more than one or two people reading this blog had set out to change their lifestyle but, as the year wore on, lost the motivation and let their wellness and fitness goals fall by the wayside.

Now it’s October, and the end of the year will be here in the blink of an eye. Health and wellness may not be top of mind right now -- as it usually is in January when everyone is turning over a new leaf. But this is a great time to look back and reexamine your progress.

What goals did you set for yourself? Were they realistic? Did you have a solid plan in place, as well as a support system? What events or circumstances in your life caused you to set your goals aside? What are your reasons for wanting to make a change? Most importantly: Are you willing to work for it?

The time is now to make a commitment to yourself and your well-being.  Don’t wait for 2009 to arrive. New Year’s resolutions are cliché. Take action today. You’re worth it.
