With the dwindling special editions of regular DVDs, Anchor Bay Entertainment has released some of the best editions of horror and cult films for the past decade. With many of their releases now out-of-print collector's items, Anchor Bay released several Limited Edition numbered copies of films back in the early 2000's. One such so is the Limited Edition copy of Suspiria, which was limited to 60,000 prints, released on September 11, 2001.
With superior sound and picture, far more fulfilling than Blue Underground's 2-disc Special Edition release from September of 2007, the overall look of the film is amazing with a beautiful widescreen presentation in 2.35:1. With crispness and clarity to every kill, shadow and luminous color, Argento's masterpiece is fully presented here in this special feature busting package. With the film digitally mastered in THX, we find "Witch!" being shouted at the corners of our ears and vibrant colors shot right off the screen at us.
As Anchor Bay is accustomed to releasing classic horror films, this LE title went out-of-print shortly there after leaving only the other released single disc version by Anchor Bay available. While the three disc LE version supplies all the same features that is on the single disc, we are presented with more material via the two extra discs. Here we find all we want to know and more with the 25th Anniversary documentary on the second disc. Here we see interviews with Argento, Jessica Harper (Suzy Banyon), Daria Nicolodi (co-writer), Udo Kier (psychiatrist), and rock band GOBLIN. For disc three we are presented with the classic CD soundtrack from horror composers GOBLIN, being able to take the horror of Suspiria along with you.
With the 32-page booklet here we find an exclusive film review from Travis Crawford and an transcribed interview with actress, Jessica Harper. The Limited Edition also includes eight duplicate lobby cards and two replicas of the film's poster, making the overall package barely even able to close. With a heavy duty DVD case, we find an immediate shine to the beauty this film holds, making the Limited Edition the most prestigious copy to own.

With the limited existence of many of these copies, every horror extraordinaire should pick up this dwindling Limited Edition on Amazon.com or on Ebay.com. This is by far the best DVD release of this classic horror film from filmmaker Dario Argento.
