Alicia Silverstone launches cookbook, The Kind Diet.

Alicia Silverstone, the "It" girl of the 90's, thanks to several Aerosmith music videos and her starring role in "Clueless" has a new role. In addition to acting on Broadway, Silverstone is now   cookbook author with the release of her first book "The Kind Diet, A Simple Guide to Feeling Great, Losing Weight and Saving the Planet.”

According to Silverstone, The Kind Diet "explores the connection between what we put in our bodies and what we’re doing to the planet, and how choosing the right foods in the kitchen can help you feeling lighter, sexier, and more alive."

Silverstone was one of the first celebrities to go public with her vegan lifestyle a decade ago. Her book is about the vegan diet with 75 natural vegan and macrobiotic recipes as well as a three step diet program.

The Stella McCartney Store in West Hollywood will host Silverstone’s book launch for "The Kind Diet" tonight.

"The Kind Diet, A Simple Guide to Feeling Great, Losing Weight and Saving the Planet”is available now at Amazon.com.

Silverstone will star in an online production called "The Kind Life," described as an online expansion of her book, focusing on global warming and vegetarian topics.
