The letterpress prints from Work On Paper

Sof’ Boy creator Archer Prewitt will be signing his new book, Work On Paper, at Quimby’s on June 20th. A Chicago local, Prewitt is a former member of the band The Coctails, and a current member of The Sea and Cake. He has also released a number of albums under his own name, which can be found through Thrill Jockey Records.

His popular comic creation Sof’ Boy juxtaposed his naive protagonist with an often perverted and morbid environment. The first two issues of the series have been recollected by Drawn and Quarterly as the Sof’ Boy Econo Combo, and the third issue is still available through their online store. The series has been featured in a number of anthologies and collections, including McSweeny’s, an edition edited by Chicago’s own Chris Ware, and An Anthology of Graphic Fiction, Cartoons, & True Stories, edited by another Chicago local, Ivan Brunetti.

Work On Paper collects 32 minimal drawings that the cartoonist has drawn over the past two decades, and is being published by Press Pop. Images from the book are available at their website, and three framed, signed and numbered letterpress prints are available for purchase as well.
