Reporter-writer Jennifer Garam published an article last week claiming the best new way to score a date was via your nearest yoga studio.
"Yoga dates are on the rise," writes Garam. "They are intimate, sensual and cheap, and great for your body and soul, to boot."
As yoga instructors, your often told not to date your students or other instructors, but if great minds think alike, why not connect on the mat?
Garam interviewed dating and relationship coach Jennifer Macaluso-Gilmore. Of yoga dating, she says, "You can learn quite a bit about somebody more quickly than in a restaurant where there’s less interaction with others and it’s the run-of-the-mill date."
It is said what happens on the mat, happens in life. But Garam offers five important cautions to heed.
Picking Mr. Yoga Right
Setting the Tone with the Right Venue
Dressing down for date night
Beware of bodily noises
Close encounters of the awkward kind
Following Garam's short words of wisdom and keeping in mind that all first dates come with many firsts, yoga dating may be a great way to flee the bars for healthy alternatives to traditional dating.
"After all," writes Garam. "Where else can you get so close without taking your clothes off?" To read the full article, click here.
