Chopin concerts feature Polish pianist Magdalena Baczewska

Dr. Magdalena Baczewska, an acclaimed Polish pianist and music educator, will perform a Bach and Chopin Reunion program at the next concerts of the free Chopin For All series on Saturday and Sunday, November 7 and 8.

Dr. Baczewska was born in Poland to a musical family. She started piano instruction at age five and made her orchestra debut at age 12 after winning the International Bach Competition in Gorzow, Poland.

She graduated summa cum laude with a Doctor of Musical Arts degree from Manhattan School of Music, and has served on the faculty of Montclair State University in New Jersey and the International Keyboard Institute and Festival in New York City.

In 2008, Dr. Baczewska released the CD “A Tribute to Glenn Gould,”  Her latest project, “Music for Dreams,” created in collaboration with a medical team researching sleep disorders.

Concert schedule

Dr. Baczewska’s free Chopin For All concerts in South Florida are scheduled for 7 PM on Saturday, November 7, at the Broward County Main Library, 100 S. Andrews Ave., Ft. Lauderdale; and 3 PM on Sunday, April 26, at Granada Presbyterian Church, 950 University Dr., Coral Gables. (The church concert is in the Fellowship Hall on Bird Road – not the sanctuary.) These concerts are presented by The Chopin Foundation of the United States, Inc.
