Janet Evanovich's most popular series has a new addition! Stephanie Plum returns to readers in the new Finger Lickin' Fifteen.

Lula, Stephanie's wingman, has returned to the spotlight in this book. Lula witnesses the murder of celebrity chef Stanley Chipotle, who was in town to judge a barbecue competition. Morelli, Steph's on-again-off-again boyfriend, is assigned the case and the cops struggle to identify the murderers. Determined to find the criminals, Lula and Grandma Mazur enter the barbecue competition. This is despite the fact that neither of them knows anything about barbecue sauce or grills. During all of this, Stephanie is working for Ranger again, trying to solve a series of break-ins on properties with security from Rangeman. Morelli seethes, sparks fly between Steph and Ranger, and Joyce Barnhardt tries to get in Morelli's pants.

As usual in Evanovich books, Steph lucks into answers and has wacky hijinks while ineptly hauling in her FTAs as a bounty hunter. But where Fifteen really picks up is the romance storyline.

The best thing about the Stephanie Plum books is that different parts appeal to different readers. As an action novel, number fifteen is about even with the more recent books in the series. (Yes, Stephanie's bad car karma is still around.) It's not the funniest novel in the series, but there are still some good laughs with Grandma Mazur and Lula.
