In my last pregnancy article, Jayne asked a question that I hadn't touched on.  So first off, thank you Jayne for the wonderful question.  Her question was, as her pregnant belly gets bigger, how does she lie on her stomach to get adjusted?

This question is a very good one.  Most chiropractic tables have a swing-away abdominal piece.  This piece serves several functions, but in this case it makes way for the pregnant mothers belly.  Normally, as the belly increases in size, lying on the stomach becomes more and more difficult.  But with this swing-away piece it it allows gravity to alleviate some tension on the mothers low back.

Another quick not before I sign off.  One of my patients this morning asked me if it was safe to continue chiropractic care to full term.  The easy answer is: yes!  As I mentioned in the last pregnancy article, chiropractic care can not only decrease/alleviate the low back pain associated with pregnancy, but can also make the birth easier on the mother.
