SPUR offers lunchtime forums on a variety of subjects. Lunchtime forums typically take place at 12:30 p.m. and are held at SPUR Urban Center, 654 Mission Street.
On Friday, November 6, San Francisco County Transportation Authority staff will examine shuttle services in terms of their costs and benefits, as well as their regulatory environment and effects on other transportation services and the neighborhoods they serve and traverse.
On Tuesday, November 10, Will Travis, Executive Director of the Bay Conservation and Development Commission, will discuss opportunities to amend the Bay Plan to increase our region’s resilience to climate change.
On Thursday, November 12, author Matt Heberger will discuss the recent report by the Pacific Institute which concludes that sea level rise will change the character of the California Coast, and that adaptation strategies must be evaluated, tested and implemented if the risks identified in the report are to be reduced or avoided.
On Tuesday, November 17, Ann Chan, the California Director for The Center for Clean Air Policy, will talk about best practices and the national dialogue on climate adaptation.
All forums are open to the public. Admission is free to SPUR members, $5 for non-members.
