On December 4, come to Ulteria in New Haven at Partners Cafe for the Anti-Christ Mas party. As always, dance and stomp to your favorite industrial tunes from DJs Sekt, Ratboy, and Dirty Uncle Seth. Then at 9 pm, Ulteria will be presenting you with an Anti X Mas gift like no other: a showing of EM Schrader and JL Sonic Production’s documentary about the New Haven punk/new wave scene from 1978 to 1988, It Happened But Nobody Noticed.

I noticed! It was bands and people like those featured in the film that got me through my high school years (and beyond). But here is where I make a confession: I went to high school in Bristol and my mom never allowed me to go out to the New Haven area to see the shows. Not that that means I didn’t see any of them, but that I didn’t see nearly as much as I would have liked.

That said, I’m a grown up now and don’t need my mother’s permission to go see this documentary (although something tells me she would actually like to see it too). And see it, I will.

If I haven’t convinced you already to relive these incredible experiences that can only be described as Punk Rock, or even if I have, check out the trailer!

You can check out the official Facebook page too.

I hope to see you all there too. Who knows? Maybe you’ll even catch a glimpse of yourself on screen.
