On June 25th, 2009, Farrah Fawcett lost her battle to cancer. Just days before, she announced that she was planning to marry long time companion Ryan O’Neal. Unfortunately her death came before her wedding, and was overshadowed that of Michael Jackson, the king of pop.
Let’s not forget Farrah as well, the icon for all the women in the ‘70’s. She was the sex symbol of America, with THAT famous poster, and Charlie’s Angels of course. But she played many roles on commercials, television shows, movies, and had several interviews.
We must remember Farrah that not only was she a superstar, but she changed the women’s style. Just like Michael Jackson, it’s celebrities that are part of our cultural, how we dress, how we act, and just our being in general. We watched her while she was at her best, but we also saw her downfalls with her battle with drugs. She was an inspiration to women all over, and she brought awareness to a rare cancer. Take this time to remember what this woman symbolized to this world.
