One-woman dynamo Parker Posey hasn’t been feeling so dynamic these days. By now you’ve probably heard that the star of “Waiting for Guffman” and “Best in Show” pulled out of off-Broadway production “This” because she contracted Lyme Disease.

"This" is about a single mother struggling with love, career, and well-meaning, meddling  friends who only make matters worse. Director Tim Sanford has not yet named a replacement, but says the play will open on December 13th as planned.

Take heart, Posey fans. You can still get your fix of the Baltimore-born actress thanks to new HBO series, “Bored to Death." The off-beat comedy starring Jason Schwartzman as a novelist moonlighting as an unlicensed private detective also features Zach Galifianakis and Ted Danson. For now, the cable-deprived can catch episodes free online.

As for hard-core Posey addicts, there’s always the frighteningly dorky Pepsi commercial “Spontaneous Combustion.” The 2006 ad was directed by Traktor, a Swedish production team, and set to the beat of “Streamline” by Newton. Posey and SNL alumnae Jimmy Fallon tore up the streets of New York  by combining innovative camera stunts with sheer ridiculousness.

At the time, it may not have seemed like the best career move for Fallon, but likely pegged him as goofball enough to bag Conan O’Brien’s old hosting job at “Late Night.”
