Start Me Up by Victoria Dahl is the second book in her Tumble Creek series. And this book showcases Ms. Dahl's remarkable ability to tell a story that is funny, emotional, and makes you wish you lived in Tumble Creek. If you haven't read Victoria Dahl's work, do so now.

Lori Love, our heroine who we met in Talk Me Down, is a mechanic who's always dreamed of leaving Tumble Creek to travel and experience life. Instead life had other plans and Lori never left and "settled." And as such, she's put her dreams on permanent hiatus. She needs something---or someone---to, well, make her feel like a woman again.

Quinn Jennings has no problem in being that man. Sure, he might get a little distracted when he's in design mode (he's an architect). Sure, Lori might be his younger sister's best friend. And sure, he's never really thought of Lori in that way . . . until now. Fulfilling her fantasies isn't a hardship, but Quinn discovers that he wants more than a fantasy. He wants a chance at the real thing.

When dangerous things start happening to Lori, both Lori and Quinn need to figure out who before it's too late. But nothing's more scary than trying to convince someone to take a chance. Can Quinn do so with Lori? Read and find out.

Final grade: B+
