If you’re new to the romance genre, start with the much beloved Lord of Scoundrels by Loretta Chase.  Lord of Scoundrels is considered by many seasoned romance readers as a book that can make anyone a romance fan and want to read more.  With sparkling wit, simmering sexual tension, and the classic battle of opposing wills, Loretta Chase demonstrates time and time again why she is one of the masters of the romance genre.

Jessica Trent has to save her troublesome brother.  Again.  This time, she needs to free him from the nefarious clutches of the disreputable Marquess of Dain, Sebastian Ballister.  Except when she comes face-to-face with the man who is supposed to be her enemy, Jessica feels . . . desire.  Her body wants him, even though her mind is screaming no.  So what does Jessica decide to do?  Get the best of him.

Big, bad, ugly, and obscenely rich, Dain is used to thumbing his nose at society.  No one dares risk his wrath, except for this bold, petite bluestocking, whose beauty rouses in him this protective, tender side.  He can’t believe she could desire him or best him.  The fact that Jessica continuously manages to surprise him leaves his perfectly ordered world in turmoil.  He only knows he wants her and will do anything to keep her by his side.

Sparks fly between the two over from the beginning to the very end.  The dialogue is engaging and entertaining, and Jessica and Dain are two characters you’ll want to revisit time and time again.

Final grade: A+

You can buy the book at Amazon, at Barnes & Noble, or at your local bookstore.
