There are seven pizzerias in Mission Hill in Boston, each of them unique and offering their own twist on the time-honored pie recipe.  Penguin Pizza, at 735 Huntington Avenue, just steps away from where the E train stops at Brigham Circle, is one of the best.

We don't know why this restaurant is called 'Penguin" except for the mascot on the sign and the penguin-themed X-mas window displays, but it doesn't matter.  They offer a fine selection of draft beer, friendly service and perfectly crafted, artisinal pies.  Among the selections on the menu are the Duck Comfit, the Aegean, the Caribbean Jerk Shrimp.  Our personal favorite is the Seasonal, which is offered year round.  This pizza consists of thin crust topped with butternut squash sauce (in place of tomato), a blend of cheeses, braised leeks and fried sage.  It not your nana's or your nunu's pizza.

Is it worth a trip out on the Green Line?  You better believe it is.  Once you've settled into this cozy atmosphere you won't have any doubt.  Once you have a bite of this pizza, you'll promise to come back for more.
